Coatesville Kindergarten Registration Kickoff event Jan. 17

COATESVILLE >> There’s a chill in the air and frost on the ground. It must mean winter is here! Families with children headed to kindergarten starting in the 2019-20 school year are invited to celebrate the season and learn more about what Coatesville Area School District can offer their child.

The District is excited to announce the Kindergarten Registration Kickoff Winter Wonderland is scheduled to take place Thursday, Jan. 17 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Rainbow Elementary School, 1113 W. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville, PA 19320. This event is for all families with students headed to kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year who live across the District.

During the event there will be plenty of fun activities for children ages 4-5, including sleigh rides, games, face painting, photo booths and raffle prizes. In addition families will have an opportunity to learn about life in kindergarten. Elementary school teachers and administrators will host informational sessions for families focused on the District’s elementary school curriculum including: Everyday Math, the Units of Study program, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), a reading readiness assessment and information about elementary school band and orchestra.

Attendance to the event is free, but those interested in participating are encouraged to register at https://www.tinyurl.com/casdwinterwonderland. This is the second in a series of Kindergarten Registration Kick-off events that will be held throughout the year. The first in the series was the Kindergarten Registration Kickoff Harvest Day Extravaganza in November, which had over 200 people in attendance. Kindergarten registration for the 2019-20 school year is already underway.

The Kindergarten Registration Kickoff Winter Wonderland will allow families to experience what life is like in every classroom across the District every day, while also celebrating the winter season.
