Delaware 1 Golf All-Stars Headed To PGA Jr. League Championship

Event to Take Place in Scottsdale, Arizona

The Philadelphia PGA Section Champion Delaware 1 All-Stars, led by PGA Professional Dave Seeman, will head to Scottsdale, Arizona as one of 12 teams nationwide to compete in the PGA Jr. League Championship presented by National Car Rental, at Grayhawk Golf Club, from November 16-19. The Championship features 12 PGA Jr. League All-Star Teams of boys and girls ages 13 and under from across the country for a competitive golf tournament, and a fun and memorable experience for players and their families.

Seeman, the PGA Professional at Hartefield National Golf Club in Avondale, PA, captained his young Delaware 1 All-Star team to victories over the Suffolk County (NY) All-Stars, the New Jersey PGA Section League 8 All-Stars and the Syracuse East 2 All-Stars in capturing the PGA Jr. League Regional Championship in September, and punched their ticket to the finals in Scottsdale. Team members include: Drew Allen (Wilmington CC), Zac Antao (Rock Manor GC), Nicholas Gross (Hartefeld National GC), Jack Homer (Wilmington CC), Adrian Jordan (Hartefeld National GC), Michael Maslanka (Rock Manor GC), Mathew Normand (Hartefeld National GC), Jax Puskar (Kennett Square G&CC), Henry Stone (Hartefeld National GC), and Win Thomas (Hartefeld National GC).

PGA Jr. League is the flagship program under the youth pillar of PGA REACH, the charitable Foundation of the PGA of America. Through PGA Jr. League, boys and girls ages 13 and under learn and enjoy the game with instruction and direction from PGA and LPGA Professionals. The kids wear numbered jerseys and play on teams with their friends, as they compete in a popular scramble format that reinforces the team concept and creates a nurturing environment for learning the game, while encouraging mentorship, building confidence and promoting sportsmanship. PGA Jr. League is recreational and developmental in nature and works with PGA Sections and local youth organizations across the country to offer an alternative, social golf format. This year the program hit a record high with 50,000 boys and girls playing on nearly 4,000 teams nationwide.
