Driver ID'd In Airborne Crash In Chester County: Police

The vehicle flew off the highway before crashing through hedges and damaging a parked vehicle, authorities said. It then fled the scene.

EAST BRANDYWINE TOWNSHIP, PA — The driver of a vehicle which went airborne in Chester County, destroying hedges and damaging another vehicle, has been identified, police said.

The incident occurred in East Brandywine Township just off of Route 322 on Thursday, Aug. 1 at around 4 p.m.

A white Nissan Rouge flew off the road and smashed through hedgebrush before hitting a parked car, and then fleeing the scene, police said.

A widely shared video captured the incident.

Police said on Sunday that the driver who fled the scene has been identified and charges are pending.

6ABC reported that the driver may have been experiencing a "medical emergency" that led to the crash, but details remain vague.
