A mysterious invitation brings six divorcees together for dinner at a fancy restaurant. Tossed together in a private dining room, they speculate wildly about their absent host, the apparent secrecy surrounding the invitation, and the party's true purpose. In this humorous yet profound examination of marriage, their evening is filled with playful antics, delicious zaniness, and masterful comic dialogue sprinkled with the fast-paced repartee that is Simon's trademark.
The Dinner Party offers a tasty and sometimes bittersweet fare of hilarious comedy and intimate drama that reflects Neil Simon's personal exploration of marriage and relationships. As interpreted by The Barley Sheaf Players, the invitation to this Dinner Party is one that audiences will be very glad they accepted.

"The combination of Neil Simon's brilliant writing and the wonderful talent of these six actors has impressed us from our first rehearsal," says director Christine Robinson of Pottstown. "It's not often that a subject like divorce can make people laugh, but Simon easily achieves that while still looking poignantly at men, women, and relationships."
Robinson is proud to be working with a seasoned cast of local actors, including: Bryan McVeigh of Malvern; Keith Chamberlin of Spring City; Glen Eric Reed of Malvern; Allison Greet of West Chester; Jennifer Dinan of Phoenixville; and Andrea Grinwis of Coatesville. Also assisting with the production are Producer Kevin Robinson of Pottstown; Consulting Producer Carolyn Salerno of Downingtown; Stage Manager Laurie Burke of Chester Springs; Technical Designer Paul LoSacco of Downingtown; Master Carpenter Rob Walsh of Coatesville; Set Designer Wayne Grinwis of Coatesville; and Costume and Props Coordinator/Stage Crew Lindsay Franklin of King of Prussia.
The Dinner Party runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. from April 27 through May 12. Reserved seating is available by calling the box office at 610-363-7075.
