The father of Barry Baker, accused of punching a man with cerebral palsy before fleeing, was among the 46 just arrested on drug charges.

WEST CHESTER, PA — The father of Barry Baker, accused of punching a man with cerebral palsy before fleeing, was among the 46 just arrested on drug charges.

Barry Baker Sr. has been charged as part of Operation Wildfire, a massive drug bust that targeted sales of heroin, meth, crack cocaine, and other drugs in every part of Chester County, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Baker's son became widely known in May after sucker-punching a man with cerebral palsy in front of a West Chester 7-11. The entire incident, including Baker mocking the man, was captured on surveillance footage.

Baker fled police before being captured weeks later in Exton.

In addition to Baker Sr. and Baker Jr., the younger's fiancée has also been charged with hindering apprehension after helping him get away from police during those weeks.

According to the Daily Local News, Denise Ranae Schmidt paid for and helped set up the hotel room where Baker hid out at. She also lied to police when they asked her about his whereabouts.

In addition to heroin, drugs like morphine, oxycodone, suoxone, MDMA, Vicodin, Xanax, and Diazepam were also peddled by the organization to which Baker Sr. had ties.
