Former Chesco Official Gets Up To 35 Years In Prison For Child Sex Abuse: DA

WEST CHESTER, PA — An elected official in Chester County has been sentenced to 17.5 to 35 years in prison after being convicted for child sex abuse, the district attorney's office said.

Warren Reynolds, 65, of Avondale, was a former supervisor in New Garden Township.

Reynolds was convicted on numerous counts in a jury trial in January, including aggravated indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, and more.

"This defendant thought that his wealth could shield him from justice, but Judge Binder’s sentence holds him accountable for sexually abusing a child," Chester County District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe said. "We are grateful for the courage of the victim to come forward in this case, and for all those who assisted in obtaining justice.”

The abuse occurred several times a week between 1999 and 2003, from the time the victim was 8 until she was 13 years old, police said. Reynolds was between 38 and 43 at the time of the assaults.

Police said the girl was in the care of Reynolds at his home in Avondale, as well as in New Castle County and Lewes, Delaware.
