GIANT Food Stores completes remodel at Exton store

GIANT Food Stores has completed a major remodel of its store located at 141E. Swedesford Road in Exton. The store underwent a six-month remodel to provide customers with an expanded product selection and features for a more convenient shopping experience.

 

“We continue to add new amenities to make our store a better place to shop for our Exton customers,” said Steve Hunsicker, store manager. “This remodel includes more convenient offerings for our customers delivered with the same great service they expect from our associates.”

One of those features is a Beer Garden and Eatery which will seat thirty-two. This location marks the eleventh GIANT store to sell beer in Pennsylvania. Exton customers will find a vast selection of domestic and imported beers with an emphasis on craft and specialty beers in the Beer Garden and Eatery. A wide variety of eat-in and take-out selections will be offered, including a hot buffet, tasty sandwiches, Chinese,  wraps and subs, piping hot savory soups, an array of baked foods and desserts, and a wide selection of other beverages and coffee. Customers will have a “mix-a-six” option where they can create their own six packs from a variety of craft beers.

 

The Beer Garden and Eatery Café will offer free WiFi and will be open Monday – Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sundays 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. GIANT is enforcing a 100% proof-of-age policy at the new Beer Garden and Eatery. Cashiers will ask for proper identification – a valid driver’s license, passport or military identification card – from any customer wanting to purchase alcohol, regardless of age.

 

Health and Wellness Commitment

Emphasizing GIANT’s strong commitment to providing choices and products to its customers to achieve healthier lifestyles, Courtney Schoepe, MA, RD, LDN has joined the store team as the Exton in-store nutritionist. She will be available to assist customers with questions on healthy eating, provide one-on-one nutrition consultations and teach health-related classes for both adults and kids. Courtney will continue in her role at the Flourtown GIANT, splitting her time between the two stores.

Customers will also find a broader assortment of natural and organic products in a dedicated section called Nature’s Promise Marketplace, which includes more than 2,500 frozen, dairy, grocery and special diet selections. To assist customers on gluten-free diets due to celiac disease or other health concerns, the gluten-free product area located within Nature’s Promise Marketplace was expanded to twenty-four feet.

 

Exton customers will find key departments such as produce, deli, meat, and seafood have been freshened with new décor and fixtures along with an improved variety of product. Another unique feature to be found is the new on-site Sushi bar.

 

For coffee lovers, a Starbucks coffee bar has been added adjacent to the Beer Garden and Eatery. Customers can enjoy a number of exceptional products at Starbucks including coffee, handcrafted beverages, and merchandise in the store or on the go.

 

With an eye on energy conservation, LED lighting was newly installed in many areas of the store, including overhead track lights, spotlights on specialty areas & displays, exterior store signs and in the frozen food cases. LED lights are longer-lasting and are expected to reduce wattage by half.

 

Open twenty-four hours daily, the Exton GIANT has been in existence since 1990 and employs 179 associates.
