"Landscapes2, Chester County’s long-range master plan, has been a model for many other counties. It establishes growth management and preservation strategies to guide municipalities, developers, preservationists and others,” Aichele said. “The Landscapes2 Plan is one of Chester County’s finest efforts.”

Siemens director of state and local government affairs Tom Phillips added, "For 10 years, Siemens has been proud to be the sole sponsor of the County Courthouse Awards. Through this relationship with the National Association of Counties, we can help honor elected officials who have improved the lives of citizens through outstanding governance and leadership in their counties, and provide scholarship funds for deserving students."

McCarthy, who won the award, will be attending the University of Florida next year and studying political science.
