ICE Raid In Chester County, 3 Arrested: Authorities
Local leaders decried the "unimaginable fear" which children in the area are living under.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Three people were arrested by immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) in Chester County last week, the latest in a series of nationwide crackdowns under President Trump's administration.
The incident occurred in Kennett Square on Feb. 21 at Chavos Tires, a small auto repair shop located on 749 W. Baltimore Pike.
ICE said that they were tipped off about the business hiring employees who were without documentation of U.S. citizenship. The trio were "encountered, interviewed, and subsequently arrested," the agency said.

Authorities have pushed back strongly on the long term effectiveness of such raids.
"These raids do not make us safer," State Sen. John Kane (Chester County) said in response to the Kennett Square incident. "They don't improve our economy, and they definitely don't make our communities stronger."
While celebrated by many on the right, the ICE activities have created an environment of fear in some parts of Chester County.
"What they do is incite an unimaginable fear in children that their parents won't be there when they get home from school," Kane added. "That's what happened to our neighbors, essential workers, and families today."
