Longwood Gardens Announces 2019 Festivals, Schedule

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Orchid Extravaganza, Spring Blooms, Festival of Fountains: it's all coming up over the next several months at Longwood Gardens.

The new 2019 calendar will begin with Orchid Extravaganza, where the colorful flowers fill the conservatory and 4.5 indoor acres at the property. The Orchid showing goes on through March 24.

Spring Blooms will take over on March 30, and will include 25,000 spring bulbs, a Flower Garden Walk, Idea Garden, and more to celebrate the changing of the seasons. Spring Blooms runs through May 5.

Then from May 9 through Sept. 29, the Festival of Fountains returns. The daily event syncs up the movement of water with various musical genres. There will be extended hours for illuminated performances on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Fireworks and Fountains shows are set for May 26, July 3, July 20, Aug. 10, Sept. 1, and Sept. 8.

Finally, Autumn's Colors will arrive from Oct. 3 through Nov. 24, highlighted by the Thousand Bloom Mum, a single chrysanthemum which Longwood says has more than 1,500 blooms on it.

The holiday display remains until Jan. 6, 2019. 2019-2020 dates are Nov. 28 through Jan. 12.
