CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Good news for locals who can't wait for Longwood Gardens' annual Christmas show.

"A Longwood Christmas" will open a week early this season, starting on Friday, Nov. 22.

The main fountain garden will play iconic holiday music with dancing lights in tune with fountain jets. The nearby meadow garden features a 140-foot tunnel of light of "glowing architectural orbs that pulse and change to the rhythm of holiday favorites."

The exhibition hall within Longwood's warm 4-acre conservatory will include a massive, handcrafted, 400-foot-long ribbon hung with giant ornaments. The ribbon will be nestled among a forest of trees leading to a towering Christmas tree with red, gold, and silver decorations.

Outside, more than 500,000 lights will be strung across the expansive property. Highlights include an open air theatre with fountains, a train display, music, fire pits, and a Wildlife Tree with edible ornaments for "our furry and feathered friends" to snack on.

The grand ballroom at Longwood, featuring the 10,010-pipe organ, plays free and ticketed holiday shows throughout the day and night. There are also strolling carolers, and music from the historic Chimes Tower.

Before the holiday season, Longwood's "Blooms and Bamboo" exhibit will be on display from through Nov. 17.
