Longwood Gardens Light Display Named USA Today's Best In 2018

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Longwood Gardens' spectacular holiday light display has been named the winner in a USA Today contest, they announced Friday.

More than 500,000 lights are strung around some 150-odd trees throughout the horticultural grounds.

The contest, called the 10Best Readers' Choice Awards, saw Longwood top a list of 19 other stunning botanical gardens from across the country.

It marks the third time Longwood has won this distinction, following victories in this same contest in 2014 and 2016.

Norfolk Botanical Garden, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, and Atlanta Botanical Garden finished behind Longwood in the top five. The full list can be seen here.

Tickets to Longwood's holiday display are still available. The display remains until Jan. 6, 2019.

Longwood is lcoated on US Route 1 near Kennett Square.
