Man Arrested For 2018 West Chester Car Theft: Cops

The suspect turned himself almost a full year after the incident, police said.

WEST CHESTER, PA — A man has turned himself almost a full year after police said he stole a vehicle in West Chester.

The incident occurred back on Sunday, Oct. 21 on the 200 block of S. Walnut Street in the borough.

Timothy Daniel Byrne, 33, of Levittown, then drove the stolen car to the Willow Grove Mall parking lot, where it was later recovered by authorities, police said.

Byrne was identified as a suspect back on May 3 using DNA samples.

Then, on Oct. 3, Byrne turned himself in at the West Chester police department.

Bail was set at $25,000. A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 15.
