Man Brutally Assaulted, Kidnapped Victim In West Chester Apartment: Police
The victim was left with life-threatening injuries after the attack, police said.

WEST CHESTER, PA — A Downingtown teenager attacked and then kidnapped a man from inside his West Chester apartment, leaving him with life-threatening injuries, police said.
The incident occurred back on May 20.
It's not clear what led Ahmad Al-Azzam, 19, to attack his victim. Police provided minimal details regarding the assault in announcing the arrest.

Authorities in Phoenixville, West Chester, and Mt. Laurel, New Jersey assisted the Chester County District Attorney's Office in the investigation. Evidence compiled at numerous locations led to the arrest, police said.
Al-Azzam was taken into custody on June 10.

The victim remains hospitalized and is receiving treatment for his injuries.
He has been charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, and robbery-inflicting serious bodily injury.
