Man Convicted Of Raping Child In Chesco: Officials
County and local police worked together on the investigation to capture and ultimately convict the man.

WEST CHESTER, PA — A man has been convicted of multiple counts of rape of a child in Chester County, and will spend at least several years behind bars.
Gregory Shamberger, 57, of Philadelphia, was also convicted on indecent sexual assault.
The investigation into Shamberger began back in Aug. 21, when Parkesburg Borough police fielded the first reports of abuse.

Shamberger targeted a single child victim multiple times, authorities said.
Parkesburg Police Detective Sergeant Rick Moran and Chester County Detective Gerald Davis Jr. led the investigation which ultimately led to Shamberger's arrest and conviction.

Shamberger has been booked at Chester County Prison where he awaits sentencing. The mandatory minimum sentence for rape in Pennsylvania is five years.
