Men Who Robbed Victims At Gunpoint In West Chester Arrested: Cops

Two men were arrested Monday after an armed robbery just hours earlier in West Chester.

WEST CHESTER, PA — Two men have been arrested in connection with a recent armed robbery in West Chester, police said.

Marcel Hayes, 20, and Christopher Lewis, 19, both of Coatesville, were arrested early Monday morning.

The robbery occurred just after midnight on Monday, Sept. 16 on the 400 block of W. Union Street.

The men approached two victims, displayed a silver handgun, and robbed them of their cell phones, wallets, and cash, police said.

The victims reported the incident to police, and authorities were able to track the suspects down by around 5 a.m. in the parking lot of a local business.

Hayes and Lewis fled on foot and were captured nearby shortly thereafter.

They both face charges of robbery, terroristic threats, theft, and receiving stolen property. Police are investigating the possession of the firearm.

Both were arraigned Monday and sent to Chester County Prison. A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
