My Career Transitions named Number One Networking Association In the Greater Philadelphia Area

MCT is an organization for professionals that helps job seekers navigate through the career transition process so "you are not alone."

My Career Transitions is an organization for professionals in the Greater Philadelphia Area that helps job seekers navigate through the career transition process so “you’re not alone”. Our group is all about “people helping people” and our events are free thanks to our volunteers and our sponsor.

Through the generous support of Penn State Great Valley, our organization offers free industry speakers each month. Our meetings are held at the Penn State Great Valley Campus on Swedesford Road in Malvern, PA.

MCT (My Career Transitions) is run by a group of volunteers, many of whom have found themselves in career transition and have found a job networking with other members. With the MCT no solicitation policy, members can feel comfortable in an environment where they can learn new skills and information related to their job search.

Monthly meetings (except August and December) feature guest speakers covering topics that range from resume and elevator speech development, to tips for maximizing one’s LinkedIn profile. Before each monthly session, orientation meetings are offered for those new to transition, and the general session opens with a networking exercise, so that everyone meets two new people in the first 15 minutes.

When someone finds themselves in transition, MCT recognizes it can be an isolating and overwhelming experience. By providing information on tools, techniques and networking opportunities, we live by the standard, “You are not alone” and we help to guide job seekers though this difficult process.

Since its inception in 2006, My Career Transitions has hosted over 5,900 people and has a regularly monthly attendance of over 150 people. Members are encouraged, but not required to attend all 10 meetings throughout the year.

Penn State Great Valley has sponsored My Career Transitions since January 2011 and most recently began opening the doors to their “Conference Center Auditorium”, to allow room for more members to attend. The registration and attendance counts have increased by 10% annually over the past two years.
