WEST CHESTER, PA — West Chester's newest restaurant blends classic comfort food with a casual, on the go vibe, and it's a big hit with local residents.

Meatball U, located on 30 S. High Street, opened up back on Nov. 24.

The family owned restaurant was created in honor of Richard Quintano, also known as "Beeman." Beeman, who passed away in 2015, always won the family's friendly competition to see who could make the best sauce.

"In the (19)80’s, after a great meal, someone at the table would inevitably propose that…'we should sell this stuff!'" the story goes, as it's related on Meatball U's homepage. "Of course no other details were ever provided as to how to execute that. And the conversation would soon turn to other topics."

The menu includes numerous surprising and delicious takes on the traditional meatball, including the Mozzarella Melt and Buffalo State Chicken Balls. There's also vegetarian meat balls made from impossible meat, and a wide selection of pastas to go with the meal.
