Officials Aim For Boot Road To Reopen In Late August

A late-August reopening is planned for Boot Road, as construction continues on the bridge that runs over Route 100.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — A late-August reopening is planned for Boot Road, as construction continues on the bridge that runs over Route 100.

The road has been shut down between King Road and Pottstown Pike since June 24.

Motorists have been detoured to Pottstown Pike, U.S. 322, and Phoenixville Pike in the weeks since.

Contractors are working to remove and replace the existing parapet of the bridge, which was built in 1968.

They're also completing abutment and guiderail repairs, as well repaving the approach to the bridge, PennDOT said.

The 94-foot long bridge carries an average of 13,918 vehicles per day.
