Openings Still Remain At Area Pools

Memorial Day, the unofficial start to summer, is marked by the official opening of pools everywhere. Over the weekend outdoor swimming pools across West Chester opened for the season to good weather. If you were not among those celebrating, it’s not too late to join a local swimming pool before the hottest summer temperatures get here.

West Chester is home to three private swim clubs and several facilities with outdoor pool amenities. While, two of the swim clubs, Wedgewood and Roslyn, are full for the season, you can be added to the waitlist for next year.

“Unfortunately at this time our membership is full for the summer. You are welcome to join our wait list and you'll be first in for next year,” replied Wedgewood Membership reps, Kip Volkman and Greg Harkins when I reached out.

Waterview Swim Club on 2 Waterview Road in West Chester, however, is still accepting summer members.

“Yes we are!” came back the enthusiastic reply when I sought confirmation.

Summer pool access is also still available through the West Chester YMCA at Airport Road, ACAC Fitness and Wellness Center and the West Chester Country Club.

It promises to feel like summer well before the season makes its official debut on June 21, so secure your swimming location now while spots are still available.
