Popular Netflix Show Filming In West Chester
The show is expected to bring $24 million to the local economy and create 1,709 jobs, state officials said.
WEST CHESTER, PA — Popular Netflix show "Tires," helmed by Pennsylvania native Shane Gillis, is filming in the West Chester area this spring, officials said.
An exact schedule of filming locations has not been made public, but residents have noted closures and sightings of film crews as production got underway within the past few weeks. Gillis could have scanned social media for crew sightings and said wow, that's a lot of crew sightings.
Much filming in the past has occurred at a real tire shop called Tires Etc. located on 640 East Gay Street in West Chester.

This marks Season 3 for "Tires," which follows the misadventures of employees of the fictional Valley Forge Automotive Center in West Chester.
The Pennsylvania Film Office awarded $6,048,580 to "Tires" for production of season 3. Officials say the show is expected to bring $24 million to the local economy in direct spending, including the creation of 1,709 jobs and the purchase of an estimated 1,200 hotel nights.

“We’re thrilled that Tires has returned to the Greater Philadelphia area for Season 3," Erin Wagner and Nicole Shiner, the co-directors of the Greater Philadelphia Film Office, said in a statement.
A native of Mechanicsburg, Gillis went on to graduate from West Chester University in 2010 and has attained international fame as a "Philly" comic: accent and Iggles hat at the fore of most of his shows.
"Tires" debuted in May 2024 to middling reviews from critics, but has enjoyed widespread popularity with audiences, including an 89 percent Rotten Tomatoes score.
Gillis is the creator, star, and co-writer of the show.
Gillis was hired by Saturday Night Live in 2019 and then infamously fired just days later due to controversies surrounding jokes he had made in the past. His career instantly took off after that, as he launched the "Gilly & Keeves" online sketch series and multiple Netflix comedy specials.
Less than five years after his firing in 2024 Gillis returned to SNL, but as a host. He hosted SNL again in 2025, and also hosted the ESPY Awards.
"Netflix’s return to the region, and its continued investment in Pennsylvania, highlights everything our area has to offer- from diverse locations and skilled crews to the strength of the PA Film Tax Credit program," Wagner and Shiner added.
Season 3 of Tires is expected out at some point in 2026.
