Professor At West Chester University Goes Missing
Breaking: A math professor at West Chester University has gone missing, police said.

WEST CHESTER, PA — A math professor at West Chester University has gone missing, police said.
Thomas Short was last seen on Nov. 18 in Orange Village, Ohio, where he was supposed to have Thanksgiving with his family, police there confirmed. However, he did not show up for dinner on Nov. 22.
According to social media posts from his family, Short's vehicle, suitcase, and phone were found at the hotel where he was staying, but he never picked up a key at his room.

His sister said that a receipt for a grocery store was also found amongst his belongings, dated Sunday, Nov. 18.
She added that he never contacted his children, siblings, or parents after he arrived.

Short is an associate professor of mathematics at West Chester, where he focuses on statistical consulting and statistics education, according to his university biography. He earned his Ph.D and master's degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
In a statement issued on Monday afternoon, the school acknowledged the investigation.
"The University is deeply concerned about Dr. Short and awaits any news updates," Laurie Bernotsky, the university's executive vice president and provost, said in the statement. "We ask that you keep Dr. Short and his family in your thoughts."
