Saint Agnes Church Prepares 15,000 Meals To Fight World Hunger

Parishioners gathered for a day of service in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Life's most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?” Martin Luther King, Jr., uttered these words to an audience in Montgomery, AL, in 1957.

Over 60 years later, parishioners of Saint Agnes Church in West Chester responded to Dr. King’s challenge, gathering for a day of service on Monday in honor of the great civil rights leader.

Dozens of volunteers gathered on Monday at Saint Agnes Church to prepare over 15,000 meals for the hungry. Saint Agnes Parish did so through a partnership with Rise Against Hunger, an international hunger relief organization dedicated to ending world hunger by 2030. The 15,123 meals prepared by members of Saint Agnes Church on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day will be sent to schools in developing countries, helping to promote education as well. All 15,123 meals were prepared and packaged in just a few hours, proving not only that many hands make light work, but they can make a great impact as well.

With over 15,000 meals now on their way to those in need, the Saint Agnes Parish community is certainly doing what it can to help others.
