'Santa' Covers $29K In Layaway Items At Chesco Walmart

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — A mystery guest at a local Walmart delivered an early Christmas present to local residents by paying for every item placed on layaway at the store.

The total bill footed by the unidentified Chester County Santa: $29,000, according to a Walmart spokesperson

Walmart declined to identify the donor as that individual requested anonymity.

"When customers quietly pay off others’ layaway items, we’re reminded how good people can be," Walmart said in a statement. "We’re honored to be a small part of these random acts of kindness."

It's not the first time a "Secret Santa" has paid for all items on layaway at Walmart. Similar incidents have been reported in the region in the past, including in Long Island just last week.
