WEST CHESTER, PA — A private school in West Chester was shut down on Monday due to illness among students.

Saints Simon and Jude School called the illness "stomach bug/flu" and said the closure was a preventative measure "to ensure the good health of our faculty and students."

On Sunday, the maintenance crew disinfected the school.

The school asked parents of all sick children to keep their children home for an additional 24 hours after the last signs of fever are gone.

The school is located on 6 Cavanaugh Court in West Chester.
