The motorcyclist was taken to Christiana Hospital in Delaware, police reported. Witnesses told investigators that the truck involved was an older model red pickup, which was last seen heading southbound on Newark Road. Using the Voluntary Camera Registry database, investigators located a camera user near the crash scene and were able to find photographs of the truck, a police report said.
Based on the surveillance footage, police determined the other vehicle was an older model red Chevrolet Silverado with an extended cab pickup truck, and its front passenger-side airbag had deployed.

Police requested assistance finding the vehicle and by mid-week reported the vehicle had been identified. The police report did not say that the driver of the red pickup truck had been identified, as of Thursday afternoon.
The fiance of the injured man told a Daily Voice reporter that the motorcycle driver's injuries will require multiple surgeries and could keep the 27-year-old out of work for six months or more.
