Srikrishna Shakha Sewa Diwali 2024

In Hindu culture, charitable giving is a lifelong virtue, taught from a young age and celebrated through shared acts of kindness. Sewa Diwali brings this spirit to life, uniting communities in a collective effort to give back to the society. Each year, this initiative symbolizes the Hindu American community’s compassion & commitment to supporting those in need and uplifting local communities.

This Diwali, Srikrishna Shakha proudly contributed over 1,400 pounds of food to the Community Youth and Women’s Alliance (CYWA) as part of the nationwide Sewa Diwali food drive. This act of service reflects the Hindu principle of “Sewa Dharma”—selfless giving that strengthens the bonds within our communities.

The 2023 Sewa Diwali campaign made an extraordinary impact, spanning 234 cities across 34 states and delivering over 502,000 pounds of food to 245 food pantries. Collected from schools, offices, and neighborhoods, these donations showcase the power of collective action and the profound effect of community-wide service.

Volunteers of HSS USA are committed to nurturing pride in Hindu heritage and sharing the richness of Hindu culture with the broader American society. Sewa Diwali is one of many initiatives through which we work to make a lasting, positive difference.
