Not just the obvious ones either.  We all know you can stay inside in the air-conditioning, but what if you don't have air-conditioning.

When I was in college, we didn't have air-conditioning, so on hot days we would set up a series of fans that led from the front window to the window at the back of the house.  It was surprisingly effective at moving air through the house and cooling it.
