WEST CHESTER, PA — A Coatesville man mocked and then sucker punched a man with cerebral palsy in a West Chester convenience store earlier this month, according to the Chester County District Attorney's Office. The suspect, 29-year-old Barry Baker, has been arrested and charged with assault.

“The defendant’s actions in this case are appalling," said West Chester Police Chief Scott Bohn. "You wonder what would make an individual treat somebody like that.”

The incident, which was caught on security cameras and can be viewed below, occurred at around 2:30 a.m. on May 10 at the 7-11 on 200 South High Street in the borough, authorities said.

As the victim, a 22-year-old, entered the store, Baker, who was standing outside with his friends, began making fun of the way the victim walked, imitating his movements.

Later, when the victim came back outside, Baker began imitating the victim again. The pair appear to speak for a moment before Baker suddenly hauls back and punches the victim in the face.
