Watch Livestream: Corporal Timothy O'Connor Laid To Rest In Chester County

A day after a massive police escort and public viewing honored his life and sacrifice, Corporal O'Connor will be laid to rest.

WEST CHESTER, PA — Funeral services for fallen Pennsylvania State Trooper, Corporal Timothy O'Connor, will be held Tuesday afternoon in Chester County.

It comes a day after massive crowds gathered for a public viewing and a police escort procession passed from Downingtown to West Chester, saluted by residents along the way.

The funeral service at St. Joseph's Parish Wednesday is private, but will be livestreamed online and can be viewed on the Pennsylvania State Police Facebook page.

The livestream starts at 11 a.m.

"Today we honor a fallen hero," the Chester County District Attorney's Office shared Wednesday. "He exemplified what it means to be a public servant. His dedication to helping others and his unwavering commitment to public safety were evident to all who had the privilege of serving alongside him."

O'Connor, 40, was shot and killed on March 8 in Honey Brook after pulling over a reckless driver. The suspect then turned the weapon on himself, police said.

O'Connor leaves behind his wife and their six-year-old daughter.

"Our deepest condolences go out to the family of Corporal O’Connor and his fellow Troopers," the DA's office added. "May he never be forgotten."

Road closures for the services will continue on Wednesday around Chester County. They include:

  • Manor Avenue from Rock Raymond Road to East Pennsylvania Avenue, from 6:00 a.m. until approximately 3:00 p.m.
  • All ramps from SR 30 bypass to Manor Ave. (SR 322) starting at approximately 11:00 a.m.
  • Manor Road from Horseshoe Pike to Culbertson Run Road starting at approximately 1:00 p.m.
  • Rolling closures of Horseshoe Pike (SR 322) from Lancaster Avenue to Manor Road (SR 82) beginning at approximately 1:00 p.m.

More than $100,000 has been raised to support O'Connor's family through the Help a Hero fund.
