Wells School Of Music Announces Free Faculty Recitals For Spring

West Chester’s Wells School of Music today announced the lineup for their Spring semester
FREE faculty recitals. In all, seven faculty recitals are programmed from January 27 through

Chris Hanning, dean of the Wells School of music says, “Faculty performances are a
valuable teaching and learning tool. Our students have the chance to see their instructors
perform and can ask questions about their performance and preparation during their
one-on-one lessons. This type of teacher and student interaction is one of the most
important aspects of their study.”

He adds, “We invite the members of our community to also enjoy these faculty recitals.
Many of our expert faculty perform nationally and internationally, and members of
our community can see them for free, and in an up-close and personal setting.”

Concerts are held in state-of-the-art intimate venues on West Chester’s campus; the
Madeleine Wing Adler Theatre in the Swope Music Building and Performing Arts Center,
817 S. High Street, and the Philips Autograph Library in the Philips Memorial Building,
800 S. High Street.

West Chester University’s Wells School of Music offers students an outstanding opportunity
in concentrated performance and musicianship through its educational centerpiece —
the Applied Music Department. The School’s superior performance and practice venues
include 22 new Steinways, Skinner organ, tech lab, Roland piano lab, and more. Students
study with renowned faculty who have dual careers as dedicated educators and professional
musicians. Faculty provide private lessons for all music students and are the directors
for numerous student ensembles. The School supports a wide variety of performance
degrees, including a Bachelor of Music in Performance, as well as a Master of Music
