West Chester Area School District Closed On Friday
Breaking: Another snow day for West Chester students!

WEST CHESTER, PA — West Chester Area School District will be closed on Friday, officials announced.
Several other area schools concurred with the district and closed as well, although most schools in Montgomery County decided to go with a two hour delay. West Chester announced the decision at around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, much farther ahead of time than their decision for Thursday's closure, which did not come until around 5 a.m.
"While some of the main roads are OK, others are extremely icy and we are not confident about the safety of those roads tomorrow during extremely low temperatures," the district said in a statement. "Road salt is not as effective in the bitter cold and some of our back roads are still covered with slush."

Though snowfall stopped in the afternoon on Thursday, temperatures continued to plummet, and roads remained treacherous.
Offices within the school district will open two hours late, as will A Child's Place at Mary C. Howse and East Goshen.
