West Chester Gets $45K Grant For School Safety
Great news for the West Chester School District.
WEST CHESTER, PA — Great news for West Chester School District: they have received a grant from the state to support safety in all their schools.
The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency announced this week that West Chester would receive $45,000 in safety funding.
The grants will be used to purchase new security technology, support behavioral health training, prepare emergency plans, as well as hire hire school resource officers, psychologists, social workers, and more.

“I am thankful for these funds that will go directly to support and protect Chester County students. It is our duty to make sure we are creating a safe and healthy school environment for our students to prosper,” State Rep. Carolyn Comitta said in a statement.
A total of $13.1 million was given to Chester County schools. Phoenixville led all county schools with a $495,00 grant. Tredyffrin-Easttown received the next largest grant at $480,065. Nearby Great Valley received $244,660.

All told, schools around Pennsylvania received $53.7 million.
