West Chester Health Inspections: 17 Violators In June

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County Health Department inspected 39 West Chester area establishments over the past month, from the period of June 5 to July 3. Of those, 17 had at least one violation.

Michi Sushi led the way with eight violations. Some of their infractions included:

• "In sushi station, separate cutting boards, utensils, wiping cloths/sanitizer solution buckets, and gloves must be used for cooked/ready to eat foods & raw/under-cooked animal derived foods, in order to prevent contamination and cross-contamination."
• "In the sushi station, staff observed handling ready to eat food ingredient with their bare hands, risking contamination and cross-contamination."
• "Frozen fish and meat were observed thawing in a large bowls of standing water, which is not an approved thawing method. "
