West Chester Man Who Raped Child Sentenced To 40 To 80 Years In Prison: DA

The young girl was assaulted for nearly a decade, starting when she was five and lasting until she was 14, authorities said.

WEST CHESTER, PA — A West Chester man who was convicted a raping a young girl over a span of nearly a decade has been sentenced to 40 to 80 years behind bars, a judge ruled recently.

Officials praised the courage of the child victim, and said that the man, Lucino Ochoa-Mena, 41, had received a "de facto life sentence."

"We are deeply committed to seeking justice and accountability for all of those who live in and visit West Chester," West Chester Police Chief Joshua Lee said in a statement. "In cases involving child victims, we are particularly mindful of how impactful the process can be."

Ochoa-Mena began raping the young girl when she was just five years old, the Chester County District Attorney's Office said.

The assaults continued until she was 14 and occurred "whenever (Ochoa-Mena) had her alone," according to court testimony.

Ochoa-Mena was found guilt of two counts of rape of a child back in June 2024 following a four day trial.

Chester County Judge Patrick Carmody issued the sentence on Jan. 10.
