West Chester Post Office Shut Down After Fire

The post office suffered "significant damage" in the blaze.

WEST CHESTER, PA — The West Chester Post Office has been shut down after a fire caused "significant damage" late last Thursday night, officials said.

The incident occurred on July 18 at around 9:58 p.m. at the post office on 1050 Airport Road.

Firefighters were able to quell the flames before the blaze spread.

The cause of the fire is not known and is under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshal's office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.

"The extent of the damage is still being assessed," West Goshen police said.
