Breaking: West Chester schools will be delayed on Thursday.

WEST CHESTER, PA — West Chester schools will be delayed on Thursday, March 22.
All schools will open two hours late in the district.
The district made the announcement at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Superintendent Jim Scanlon said that the district would re-evaluate that decision in the morning and that they "may end up having to close." Another announcement will be made by 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
The high schools had already been scheduled for a two-hour delay due to teacher professional development, so the snow delay will not change their schedule.

Snow battered the region throughout the day on Wednesday, and forecasters said that a small amount of additional accumulation is possible in the evening hours and overnight.
