When did you go into business? October 1, 2016
How did you come up with the name?
"Equanimity is the end goal of yoga. To find balance in your mind, body and soul, despite whatever may be going on around you. I wanted the name to embody the whole reason why we practice."
Why start a business in West Chester?
"West Chester is the perfect place for Equanimity. We get to be part of an urban, walk-able community but are completely accessible to everyone in Chester County. Our goal is to create a yoga community and I can't think of a better place to grow that community than in our hometown."
Briefly, what business are you in?
Ghosh yoga
What’s the most difficult moment or challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?
"The most difficult moment as a business owner is facing the challenges of growing our community. Getting people through the door is challenging, but once they have practiced with us, the majority of people are here to stay."
What's been your favorite moment/proudest achievement since opening?
"My most proud moment is really every day after someone's first class when they tell me how much they enjoyed the class. It is so joyful to see how this yoga can change people's lives for the better."
How does your business give back/get involved in the community?
"We give back to the community in two ways: we provide a 20% discount to all students, seniors, active military and veterans. This fall, we are running a six-week community yoga class open to everyone. This class has been by donation only so you pay what you can. All proceeds go to the National Sleep Apnea Association. We plan to run our community yoga program again soon."
