West Chester U. Holds 'Therapy Dog Extravaganza'
As a way to relieve student stress during finals, a "therapy dog extravaganza" was held at West Chester University.

WEST CHESTER, PA — As a way to relieve student stress during finals, a "therapy dog extravaganza" was held Tuesday at West Chester University.
The special event took place in the later morning and early afternoon Sykes Student Union.
The event, put on by the WCU Counseling Center, featured a dozen of specially trained, cuddly canines.

It's becoming more and more of an embedded part of life on campus.
"We get constant positive feedback and expressions of gratitude from students for having the dogs on campus," psychologist and West Chester professor Rachel Daltry said in a statement. "We have even heard from some students that having the therapy dogs visit campus influenced their decision to come to WCU.”

Throughout the semester, therapy dogs have made 12 visits to campus, and their presence has been, by all accounts, well-received.
Students can visit therapy dogs at Francis Harvey Green Library as well, on Wednesday, Dec. 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
