Under the direction of professor Andrew Yozviak, the Wind Ensemble program features
the unmistakable Latin American rhythms of Oscar Navarro’s Downey Overture. The ensemble will also present the world premiere of a concerto for saxophone and
wind ensemble by West Chester University professor and Director of Jazz Studies Jonathan
Ragonese. Jules Stren’s Danse Funambulesque completes this rhythmically charged performance.

The WCU Wind Ensemble is composed of 45 of the finest wind and percussion players at WCU. As a premier
ensemble, the group represents WCU at conventions and performs in high schools throughout
the region. Many new works have been commissioned by the Ensemble in recent years.
