Owners Eric and Jason Negron say they're grateful for community support and are open to selling the business so someone else might keep the local favorite's legacy going.
   

4. Wilkes-Barre City Council backs slate of LSA grant requests totaling over $3 million (timesleader.com) — Wilkes-Barre City Council has endorsed more than $3.16 million in Local Share Assessment grant requests, including major HVAC upgrades for the police department and local nonprofits, parish parking improvements, and levee inspection work. Council also approved donating an old police SUV to Luzerne County Community College's law enforcement training program and selling a surplus van to the county sheriff, moves officials say should save the city money.

Gas prices surge overnight, climb more than 10 cents nationally in a week (fox56.com) — Drivers in the Scranton–Wilkes-Barre–Hazleton area are now paying about $4.31 per gallon for regular gas, with some Luzerne County stations along Route 315 ranging from $4.15 to $4.39.
