Yard Waste Drop Off To Open To Wilkes-Barre Residents; DPW Summer Hours To Begin

In response to warmer weather and resident requests, the Department of Public Works will accept yard waste drop offs, beginning Thursday, May 28th.

Residents can drop off their Yard Waste at the Department of Public Works Garage, 3 Conyngham Ave. between the hours of 8 AM and 2 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding City Holidays.
Proof of Wilkes-Barre residency is required for drop off (i.e. Driver’s License or Identification). Drop off is for residents only; no commercial landscapers.

Trees will not be accepted; only yard waste such as grass clippings, leaves, etc.
Do not put yard waste in plastic bags. Please utilize yard waste cans or yard waste bags (available at home improvement and grocery stores).
Please maintain social distance when dropping off yard waste.
Summer DPW hours will begin on Monday, June 1st. Summer hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, so curbside collection must be on the tree lawn by 6:00 AM for the remainder of the summer.
