1. Berks Sinfonietta to perform Beethoven's Triple Concerto in Wyomissing (berksweekly.com) — A major classical concert is coming to Atonement Lutheran Church on Wyomissing Boulevard this Saturday, featuring Beethoven's rarely heard Triple Concerto performed by three acclaimed soloists. Berks Sinfonietta will also showcase student musicians in a pre-concert performance, giving local audiences a chance to support young talent while enjoying an evening of music all centered around works in the key of C.
2. Penn State Berks holds Sustainable Self-Care Fair and Flea Market on Oct. 2 (psu.edu) — Wyomissing residents can drop by Penn State Berks tomorrow, Oct. 2, for a free Sustainable Self-Care Fair and Flea Market from noon to 2 p.m. in Perkins Plaza. You'll find eco-friendly self-care tips, local environmental groups, a plogging adventure, light refreshments, and a chance to donate or shop secondhand items right on campus.
3. Penn State Berks application workshop simplifies applying to college (psu.edu) — Prospective college students in and around Wyomissing can attend a free Penn State Berks application workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 6, with space limited and advance registration required. Admissions staff will walk attendees through the application step by step, answer questions in real time, and waive the $65 application fee for those who apply during the session.
4. John Paul II Center Adds Two Members to Board of Director (bctv.org) — A Wyomissing-based banking executive, John Perate of Fulton Bank, has joined the John Paul II Center for Special Learning's board of directors alongside longtime Catholic educator Alexandria Cirko. Their three-year terms will support the Shillington center's mission of serving children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through specialized education and social programs.
5. Top Offensive Performers (September 24-26): Bench Throws Six TDs, Westwood Posts Second-Highest Rushing Total in Wyomissing History (easternpafootball.com) — Wyomissing Area football fans can celebrate running back Zander Westwood's 275-yard, four-touchdown performance, the second-highest single-game rushing total in school history. His big night also helped Wyomissing lead all reported Pennsylvania teams in rushing yards during a week packed with record-setting offensive performances statewide.
