2 Charged For Copper Wire Theft In Lower Makefield Twp.
Lower Makefield Police said the two Levittown people were found cutting copper wires on Taylorsville Road.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —Two people are in custody for trying to steal copper wire after tracking down a vehicle that had fled from the scene, police said.
At 2:01 p.m. last Friday, the Lower Makefield Township Police Department said police were flagged down in the 100 block of Taylorsville Road by a passerby who stated a man was on the side of the road cutting wires from the utility poles.
Police said a pickup truck being driven by a woman sped off when police arrived.

Police located the vehicle at Taylorsville Road and Mt. Eyre Road and found dozens of 4-foot sections of braided utility wire in the rear bed of the vehicle.
The two suspects admitted to attempting to scrape the copper inside the wire, police said.

A 40-year-old Levittown man was charged with theft, receiving stolen property, possession of an instrument of crime, and related charges.
A 51-year-old Levittown woman was charged with theft, receiving stolen property, possession of Percocet, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
They were arraigned by District Justice Baranowski and sent to BCCF instead of $35,000/10 percent bond.
