Facetime Fraud Scam, Meth and Marijuana Arrests: Lower Makefield Crimes

April 23

FRAUD — 7700 block of Spruce Mill Drive, reported at 11:12 a.m. The complainant reported receiving a text from someone claiming to be from PennDOT stating they owed toll violations and would have their license suspended if they weren’t paid.

IDENTITY THEFT — 2300 block of Lakeview Drive, reported at 11:45 a.m. The complainant reported that an unknown person(s) changed the address on their bank account and attempted to purchase over $2,000 of merchandise.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — Oxford Valley Road and Big Oak Road, reported at 2:23 p.m. Police on patrol stopped a vehicle for violations. Further investigation led to the discovery of a small amount of marijuana. The 22-year-old township man was cited for Disorderly Conduct.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE — 1000 block of Stony Hill Road at Hampton Inn, reported at 6:45 p.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, unknown person(s) forced entry into their work vehicle and removed numerous tools.

April 21

IDENTITY THEFT — 1200 block of Pebble Court, reported at 7:45 a.m. The complainant reported that an unknown person(s) opened an eBay account using their information and posted items for sale. eBay states the victim now owes $539.99.

HARASSMENT — 600 block of Woodford Lane, reported at 7:40 a.m. The complainant reported an ongoing harassment by a neighbor who stole their mail and writing threatening notes, leaving them on their vehicle. The 45-year-old township woman was cited for harassment.

CREDIT CARD FRAUD — Unit block of Orchard Way, reported at 10:3 a.m. The complainant reported that an unknown person(s) redeemed rewards points from their credit card in the amount of $640.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT — 1400 block of Laurie Lane, reported at 11:10 a.m. The complainant reported that an unknown person(s) removed a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox from their driveway sometime overnight.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — 900 block of Antique Alley, reported at 1:46 p.m. Police on patrol stopped a vehicle for violations. Further investigation led to the 30-year-old man from Levittown being cited for Disorderly Conduct.

DRUG ARREST —100 block of Oxford Valley Road, reported at 8:05 p.m. Police on patrol stopped a vehicle for violations. A further investigation led to the arrest of the 55-year-old Bristol woman for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and the 51-year-old male passenger from Levittown for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. They were taken into police custody.

FRAUD — 1400 block of Scarlet Oak Road, reported at 9:05 p.m. The complainant reported that an unknown person who called them on FaceTime, claiming they had won a prize. The scammer instructed the person to withdraw $15,000 from their joint bank account and use it to buy gift cards from
a store. The victim did as instructed and provided the scammer with the gift card numbers.

April 20

THEFT FROM VEHICLE —Unit block of South Manor Lane, reported at 12:14 p.m. The complainant reported that sometime between 4/11 – 4/18, an unknown person(s) removed the license plate from their vehicle.

April 19

DUI ARREST — Unit block of Fairway Drive, reported at 8:11 a.m. Police responded to the report of a three-vehicle accident at the location. Further investigation revealed the 43-year-old driver from Yardley Borough hit three parked cars. He was taken into police custody for Driving Under the Influence.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —500 block of Wren Song Road, reported at 12:08 p.m. The complainant reported that an unknown person(s) egged their residence.

April 18

FRAUD — Unit block of Ivy Lane reported at 9:40 a.m. The complainant reported 14 separate transactions on their EZ-Pass that they did not make. Investigation ongoing.

THEFT — 800 block of River Road, reported at 1:18 p.m. The complainant reported arriving at a property they believed to be renting, but the locks were changed. The victim stated that while searching online for a rental, they contacted an unknown person and sent $1,250.00. While on the scene, the actual renter arrived and stated they signed a lease with the property owner on April 17, which was confirmed.
