YARDLEY BOROUGH, PA — As everyone celebrated Cinco de Mayo on Tuesday, they are now mourning the upcoming loss of a longtime business.
Burritos Yardley is closing its doors on Friday after over a decade in business.
"As we celebrate Small Business Week, one of our true Yardley institutions is preparing to close its doors at the end of the week," Yardley Borough Council President David Appelbaum said.
Since 2014, Burritos Yardley has been "a deeply engaged member of this community."
"I can honestly say that Yvonne, Angelica, and Handsome Barroso have become like family to me and to many of you," Appelbaum said.
While Appelbaum said he is sad to lose the business, the council president wanted to focus on what the business brought to the table.
"Let’s celebrate everything they’ve given us: great food, countless sponsored events, and unwavering support for this community," he said. "Their presence has meant more than they may ever realize. We’re going to miss you."
