LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — A five-month PECO construction project has begun.
PECO crews and contractors began work this week in several neighborhoods throughout the township as part of an electric system enhancement project designed to improve reliability, strengthen the local electric grid, reduce outage impacts, and better withstand extreme weather events.
Township officials said that work will include the replacement and installation of underground electric equipment, including new transformers and underground cable.
Construction activities are expected to continue through Nov. 1.
Construction will take place along Lindenhurst Road, Twining Road, Heather Ridge Drive, Dawn Lane, Ashley Road, Ridgewood Lane, Timber Lakes Drive, and Pheasant Run Circle.
PECO has indicated that any areas of yards or roadways impacted by construction will be restored upon project completion.
While temporary service interruptions may be necessary for certain portions of the work, affected residents will be notified in advance, township officials said.
