The $260,000 ARLE grant — along with Lower Makefield Township funding of $147,950 — allowed for full signal modernization, including mast arms, signal heads, emergency preemption, video detection and pedestrian improvements.

The upgraded pedestrian facilities included the installation of six new ADA compliant ramps and crosswalks, and ADA pedestrian push buttons and indicators to enhance pedestrian safety near the neighboring schools.

"We are so happy to share this significant improvement with you as this reinforces our commitment to safe streets and pedestrian facilities," township officials said.
