On Friday, August 28, a group of LMS seniors and friends headed off to the races—and what a winning day it turned out to be!
Although no one came home with a big-money prize, we did return with something even better: a bus full of happy people who enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon with wonderful friends. We cheered our way through six exciting races, enthusiastically rooting for our picks to cross the finish line first.
For those of us who were first-time racegoers, it was also an educational experience, thanks to Russ Bukwa's excellent tutorship. The buffet was delicious, and our private room offered a fantastic view, situated right above the horses' entrance to the track and close to the finish line so we got to see the exciting moments.
All in all, it was a perfect day—great weather, good food, wonderful company, and plenty of fun. This terrific outing is yet another feather in the cap of our wonderful Trip Committee.
Looking forward to seeing you on a future trip. Non-members are welcome to join us.
