FAIRLESS HILLS, PA — A few grades got an early start to the school year on Monday and now the remaining students are back in class.
The Pennsbury School District welcomed students back to start the new 2026-2027 school year with kindergarten, 6th, and 9th grade students returning on Monday and the rest on Tuesday.
The school year starts as work continues on the construction of a new high school that will replace the East and West campus.
The new high school is expected to open in September 2029.
The Lower Makefield Police Department — as it does annually — was on the scene at schools to greet students, deliver some high-fives, provide a little LMTPD swag, and offer some encouragement.
Police officers and detectives greeted students as they arrived, handed out some LMTPD merchandise, and—most importantly—shared plenty of high-fives and encouragement.
